Introduction to Integrative Embodied Psychotherapy

Belfast: Saturday 17th January 2026, 11am-6pm FULLY BOOKED

Belfast: Autumn 2026 DATE TBC

Join us for a day of CPD in Belfast, introducing you to Integrative Embodied Psychotherapy. This day-long experiential workshop will offer you an opportunity to learn how to connect more deeply with your own body, and support clients to do the same.

Integrative Embodied Psychotherapy is a therapeutic model that draws on a wide range of interventions from the practices of body-oriented psychotherapy, dance movement psychotherapy, somatic experiencing, somatic trauma therapy, IFS, neuroscience, creative arts therapies, transpersonal psychotherapy and somatic mindfulness. This integrative approach will help you enhance the repertoire of interventions you can apply in your psychotherapeutic work. This training will introduce you to some of the range of methods and interventions covered by the Institute's Certificate programme and will offer you time to explore your own embodiment in a safe, supportive environment.

This workshop is suitable for you if:

  • You would like to be able to use your own body as a resource in your practice to be able to finely attune to your clients.

  • You would like to gain confidence and expertise in working with the body to help clients to heal.

Somatic Presence in Online Therapy: Practicing Embodied Psychotherapy in Virtual Sessions

ONLINE: Saturday 3rd October 2026, 10am-2pm

As more therapy moves online, many practitioners are asking: Can somatic work be effective in virtual settings?
This workshop offers a space to explore the possibilities and challenges of that.
Online therapy doesn’t erase the body. But it invites us to meet it in new, creative, and often surprising ways. Where the screen can become part of the therapeutic field.

In this 4-hour experiential workshop, therapists and counselors will expand their confidence and capacity to practice trauma-informed embodied psychotherapy online. Through guided exploration, you’ll discover how to maintain authentic presence, track subtle nervous system cues, and support embodied regulation, even at a distance.
Expect an experiential day that blends guided somatic practices, live demonstrations, and small-group exploration. You’ll leave with practical tools you can be used into your online sessions.

Participants will learn to:

  • Track nervous system shifts through facial micro-expressions, vocal tone, and breath

  • Recognize signs of freeze, dissociation, and subtle activation online

  • Adapt grounding and movement-based interventions for virtual sessions

  • Create clear and supportive safety protocols

  • Design online sessions that feel grounded, embodied, and effective

Group size is limited to 12 participants to ensure a safe, intimate, and deeply engaging learning environment.

This workshop is designed for psychotherapists and counsellors working with adults who already have a foundation in somatic approaches and wish to explore how to integrate these methods into their online practice.

Facilitated by: Christina Argyropoulou, Embodied Psychotherapist and Supervisor (UKCP, ADMP)

Fee:  Early Bird: £85 (6 weeks before) - otherwise £105

Date: 3 October 2026, 10am-2pm

The workshop will be held online, via Zoom.

Joining details will be shared closer to the date.

The Moving Therapist: Using the Body in Practice and in Supervision

London: 14th February 2026, 10.30am-5.30pm  FULLY BOOKED

London: February 2027 DATE TBC

This experiential workshop invites practicing psychotherapists, counsellors, and trainees to explore how movement and embodied awareness can deepen therapeutic presence, enhance supervision, and support reflective practice.

Through somatic explorations and authentic movement, we will shift from thinking about our work to sensing and feeling into it. Together, we’ll cultivate presence, attunement, and embodied insight; tools that support us in both client work and supervision.

Part 1: From Thinking to Feeling; Cultivating Embodied Presence.

We begin the day by gently arriving in the body and the space. This part of the workshop focuses on shifting from intellectual processing into direct bodily awareness; an essential foundation for therapeutic presence and attunement.

Part 2: Authentic Movement & Embodied Supervision

This part of the workshop weaves together authentic movement and clinical reflection. Participants will explore how embodied practices can support supervision, enhance intuition, and surface nonverbal insights about client work.

Please note: Even though prior experience is not essential, participants need to be comfortable experimenting with movement and expressive work.
